40 Years After: The Stranglers – “Tomorrow was the Hereafter”

“August 31, 1980

THE STRANGLERS are offering die-hard fans something really special. If you belong to the Stranglers’ Information Service, the official fan club, then you can get a copy of an exclusive single of the track “Tomorrow Was The Hereafter”. On the flip side is “Nubiles (Cocktail Version)”.
This is a loungey version of “Bring On The Nubiles”, a track from their ’77 album “No More Heroes”.

The recording is just Hugh Cornwell with a cheesy electric piano. He frequently stops and asks for lyrics that he’s obviously forgotten. It’s just all soooooo Spinal Tap.”
