CLASSIC NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE PERFORMANCE AT HAMMERSMITH ODEON, 1976.

In 1976 Neil Young and Crazy Horse went on an extensive tour of Japan and Europe. The tour started in Japan and hit a substantial number of European venues before ending in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 2. The only dates in England were a four-show run at the Hammersmith Odeon in London from March 28 to 31.

Neil Young aficionados recognize this video, recorded on the last night of that run, on March 31, 1976.

This video includes “Tell Me Why,” “Stringman,” “Human Highway,” “Down By The River,” and a sweet “Cortez the Killer.”

UNDER THE RADAR: Casey Hopkins – “Touch”

Video

UNDER THE RADAR: Casey Hopkins – “Touch”.

A modern take on roots-based rock’n’roll – think surging riffs, shattering ride cymbals and relentless drum fills – Casey Hopkins comes complete with writhing attitude aplenty.

Declaring his mission to “fight mediocrity”, the NY-based muso throws a handful of grit into the ring with his single “Touch“. Blending the track’s scuzzy guitar solos with a retro, 60s kitsch aesthetic, courtesy of Jensen Gore and Ben Davis, this is a winner for any rock’n’roll fan with a soft spot for blues.
