UNDER THE RADAR: Ulrika Spacek announce Modern English Decoration, share new single “Mimi Pretend”.
Initially, “conceptualised”, in Berlin, Ulrika Spacek are a ludicrously hip prospect thankfully, there’s plenty of substance to go with the quintet’s unwavering stylishness. It was only last year the band released their debut album, The Album Paranoia, but wasting no time this week they’ve announced the follow-up, Modern English Decoration, as well as sharing the first single from it, Mimi Pretend.
“Mimi Pretend” is the first taste of the new record, with layered refrains and echoing chimes offering up a rich tapestry ripe for exploration. Opening the album, the track is a gateway into the setting Ulrika Spacek have created for themselves.
Recorded, produced, and mixed entirely in the band’s shared house (a former art gallery), Modern English Decoration is the very essence of who Ulrika Spacek have come to be.
Modern English Decoration is out June 2nd via Tough Love.
