Watch a Trailer for Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ New Album and Film
“Most of us don’t want to change, really,” Nick Cave speculates. “I mean, why should we?” This somber statement opens the trailer for his forthcoming album with The Bad Seeds, Skeleton Tree and corresponding film, One More Time With Feeling. The trailer was released today, announcing that the film will premiere on Sept. 8, with the release of the album following on Sept. 9.
Filmed in black and white and color, and screenings available in 3D and 2D, One More Time With Feeling was originally supposed to capture live performance of the recording of Skeleton Tree, but following the death of Cave’s 15-year-old son in November, it became a more poignant project. The film will present band interviews and narration from Cave, like what is heard in the trailer, with the performance of the tracklisting of Skeleton Tree. Directed by Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Killing Them Softly), Cave’s website describes the film as “fragile, raw and true testament to an artist trying to find his way through the darkness.”
